About Medicare for Men

Medicare for Men is published by Prudent Aging LLC in Colorado. I created this site to share clear, practical Medicare information for people who want health coverage details related to men’s health conditions, plus Medicare coverage basics in general.

At the simplest level, my goal is to help you feel less overwhelmed—and more confident—when you’re trying to understand what Medicare typically covers, what it doesn’t, and what to double-check before care happens.

What you can expect to learn here

Medicare can feel like a maze, especially when a real health issue shows up. Medicare for Men is built to help you:

  • Know what questions to ask doctors and medical providers when you’re seeking or receiving care for a specific condition.

  • Understand the differences between Medicare Part A, Part B, Part C (Medicare Advantage), and Part D—and why the “setting” (hospital, urgent care, doctor's office, homecare, hospice) can matter.

  • Learn more about common men’s health conditions, and how coverage and costs can vary depending on your plan and where you get care.

What we cover

You’ll find resources focused on:

  • Medicare basics (Parts A, B, C, and D)

  • Men’s health conditions + Medicare coverage guides

  • Good to Know topics that often cause surprises, like:

    • Observation vs. inpatient admission

    • Prior authorization

    • Provider networks

    • Drug formularies and coverage rules

  • Glossary, FAQs, and videos to make the big picture easier to understand

What we don’t do

Medicare for Men is educational. That means:

  • We don’t provide Medicare plan comparisons.

  • We don’t offer enrollment help.

  • We don’t schedule appointments.

  • Nothing on this site is medical advice, legal advice, tax advice, or financial advice.

Also, Medicare coverage can vary based on your location, your plan, and the details of your care. Always confirm coverage using Medicare.gov, your plan’s documents, and your medical providers.

Quick reminder: If something is urgent or you’re facing a serious medical situation, seek medical care right away. This site is designed to help you learn and prepare—not replace professional guidance.

Why trust this information

I’ve spent over 20 years working in the Medicare health insurance business. Over that time, I’ve:

  • Helped hundreds of clients learn the basics of Medicare in a short period of time.

  • Assisted many people in understanding Medicare coverage during major health events.

  • Built technical know-how around where to find reliable Medicare coverage answers (and how to spot common misunderstandings).

  • Designed simple, easy-to-follow instructional videos and presentations about Medicare.

My broader background is in financial services. I’ve worked in the industry since the early 1990s, including roles with OppenheimerFunds, Lipper Analytical, Allstate Financial, U.S. Bancorp, and as an independent health insurance agent. I also completed the Certified Financial Planning program and passed the CFP test in 2002, which covered investments, insurance, taxation, estate planning, and more.
